The Director of "The Social Network" is David Fincher who also directed other films such as "Fight Club" and "Alien 3". People could be attracted to this film because of its Director because the films he has done were very successful. I think the reason the director is not mentioned on the poster is because all the films he has previously made are all different genres so they will appeal to different audiences.
Genre
The film is a Drama. This is because the characters are realistic and includes emotional parts of the story. You can tell that this film is a drama just by looking at the actors face. His face is full of emotion, he looks slightly shocked or sad. The actor is also looking straight into your eyes so when you look at the poster, you feel the emotions of the character.
Production Company
The production company of this film is Columbia so automatically you know its a big film. Columbia have so many big films such as "Jumanj" which was a huge success. So just by seeing the producers you can see big the film is going to be just because of their previous success.
Stars (Famous Actors)
This isn't full of big stars but is full of good actors. This is film has made smaller actors into huge successful actors. For example; Andrew Garfield because of the success of "The Social Network" has gone on to be the next Spiderman. Justin Timberlake was famous and well known anyway but not so much as an actor. People could debate that this film made him more successful as a hollywood actor. Although the film poster does not list any of its actors it does show the main character on the poster. I think seeing an almost unkown actor on a film poster can make you connect with the character more so than if Tom Cruise was on the poster.
